What Is Kia Tipu?
Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Iwi Development Trust has established Kia Tipu as an investment fund to support the growth of our people through the transmission of mātauranga Māori within Wairarapa hapū, marae and pā.
Financial Investment
Through Kia Tipu, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Iwi Development Trust has committed to investing around half a million dollars per year back into our people, marae, hapū and pā.
Associated Funds
Below is a list of contestable funds open to hapū karanga and marae, and the 2026 closing dates. Fund application and criteria forms are on our website and available from the tari.
Remaining funds will be invested into education grants, significant events, kaumātua, pakeke, rangatahi and pēpi kaupapa aligned to pou tikanga, tahua, taiao and tangata.
